I was looking for a construction related position, because that has been my wheelhouse since I started working, I found the Advocate Roofing ad for Permit Runner on Craigslist.
I am now the Construction Manager. Which entails assisting with managing the crews that build the roofs, siding and gutters for the homeowners, Quality Walks after each project has been complete, I also can help order supplies for those jobs, handle any build issues and schedule the builds for the homeowners and crews.
I was promoted within a year of being hired as a permit runner.
The opportunity to be out in the field, helping our customers and Advocate. I also really appreciate the leadership Advocate Roofing provides.
It is a good, growing company with solid ownership. It stands out from any other position or company I have worked for. I often worked for companies that had no room to grow, this company is succeeding and growing at a fast pace.
Yes, but I don’t like to work with friends. ;).
Don’t give up and you will go further then you thought. If you get to work, and put in the effort you will reap the benefits of this company.
Yes, we have a decent system and process of doing things. I feel supported by my direct manager and by the owners.
Yes, I would love to retire with Advocate Roofing, it is that great of a position.
I am a weekend warrior! I love to listen to go to live shows of my favorite musicians, travel, ride my motorcycle, I enjoy snowmobiling in the winter months, whatever outdoor excitement I can fit into my weekend.
Rock and Roll!
The first job I ever had was somewhat similar to the position I hold currently, in that I worked for a general contractor at age 15. I recall working very hard to save for my first car and when I turned 16 I got that car, it made it all worth it.
